We dedicate this newsletter to the activity of Alice Project in Italy in September, after the returning of Valentino and Ilaria from India (September 11th).
There several events have been organized to introduce the Project, its vision and methodology. One of the most important has been the soiree organized by the writer Gloria Germani in her beautiful cinema in the center of Florence, on the occasion of the Dalai Lama’s visit, on September 18th.
The latest documentary about Alice’s Schoolswas projected and Valentino presented the Project to an audience who were very careful and truly interested. The cinema was almost full, as you can see in the photos. We have just one comment that summarizes the public’s feeling. Maria  Teresa Miraglia writes: -“Where do you find someone else like Valentino who after the video on Alice Project in Florence says very interesting things, which alone explained the the topics that would be treated the next day by the Dalai Lama and then concluded saying … “I’m just talking!” (Applying very well the principle of Alice School)! It is true, he was “chatting”, but about sensational things!

On September 20, Gloria Germani presented to Ilaria, Agata Montevecchi (The responsibles for the Friuli NGO) and Valentino to the friends interested to know about Alice Project and engaged in the research of alternative forms of education.
On the 21st of September, Valentino, Ilaria and Agata met a group of teachers and parents of the small village of Barcola, in the province of Trieste. Valentino illustrated the basic concepts of Alice’s research, stimulating a heated debate among the audience who agreed with both the methodology and philosophical vision proposed by Alice.
Here’s the comment of Laura De Bortoli, the conference organizer:“The woman who left the money for Valentino’s was Elena. She has been with Don Elio (who passed away six months ago) for the last 18 years. She just had to leave before the end of the conference and asked to me to thank you with all her heat. She said, “Valentino is really a wonderful and charismatic man!” I add my heartfelt thanks for leaving her with a smile full of love and joy that I did not see since long time. And not only smile was in her face. To give the hope for a better world is not something small. Thank you so much for everything. The topic of the conference was defined “interesting” by all the people who were present; so people from every level of culture and age appreciated it. They requested to be informed about other possible meetings. Everyone was so excited.

Immediately after Trieste, Valentino and Ilaria went for a few days to San Pietro Vara, in Val di Vara, in the province of La Spezia, at the Community of Reconstructor in the prayer.

Father Tiziano Tamussi, the founder of the community and supporter of the Alice Project since several years, was waiting for them. Valentino had already held an upgrade course at the Reconstructor’s community  afew months ago. The purpose of the visit was to lay the foundations of a private school set up on the Alice’s model.

They visited the villages in that beautiful valley, interacting with the few survivors of the exodus towards the cities.

With Father Tiziano they have … dreamed of reviving, through the educational proposal of Alice, the valleys, recovering not only ancient structures at risk due to degradation and abandonment, but also the culture and the humanity that characterized those places immersed in the green and in the silence.
They also met the group of Alice animators who are already engaged in schools in different cities to define a common action plan to promote a more incisive presence of Alice.

Finally, Valentino spent time giving advises to the parents of “difficult” children who could not find right support at school.
